This is an iconic spot located in the heart of Zürich. The restaurant is very busy, often crowded, with groups seated together at shared tables. The menu is simple, but the food is tasty, hearty, and served quickly. What sets this place apart is its impressive variety of sausages, alongside classic dishes like schnitzel and Zürcher Geschnetzeltes. Prices are moderate by Swiss standards. Overall, it’s a good experience.

Very cool restaurant located in the heart of Zurich, in an old munitions factory. Lots of cool memorabilia on the walls, artillery pieces and anti aircraft cannons displayed as well. We had the weinershnitzel and the bratwurst with spatzel. The meats were delicious and cooked perfectly. They also have a house lager that pairs well with everything. For desert get the home made apple strudel, you won't be dissapointed. It does get busy so make reservations if you go later than 5pm.

If you are looking for a proper, traditional Swiss dining experience in the heart of Zurich, Zeughauskeller is a must-visit. The decor and atmosphere are fantastic, housed in a historic 15th-century armoury that feels authentic and full of character. The food was excellent—high-quality, hearty dishes that hit the spot—and their in-house beer is top-tier and well worth a try. While it is clearly a popular spot for tourists and designed to cater to a global crowd, that shouldn't put you off. It manages to maintain a genuine sense of tradition without feeling like a "trap." Whether you're a visitor or just looking for a solid Swiss meal, the quality of the food and the unique setting make it a brilliant experience. Highly recommended!

Really fun restaurant. Gets really full so make reservations in advance and be ready to order when you sit down because the service here is fast-paced. Definitely try this place if it’s your first visit to Zurich.

Tried the Autumn platter and really enjoyed it. The place has a very typical German and Swiss flair, rustic and authentic, which adds a lot to the experience. The food was very good. The vol au vent and mushroom ragout were especially tasty, and all the vegetarian components were well cooked and well balanced. Comforting, hearty food done right. Service was good and attentive despite how busy the restaurant gets. The place is clearly very popular and well attended. Because of the crowd, you may end up sharing tables with other guests. It turns into a kind of communal dining experience, which actually feels quite nice and lively rather than uncomfortable. Overall, a great spot for traditional food, authentic atmosphere, and a classic Zurich dining experience. Definitely worth visiting if you want something local and filling.
