I'm usually a little wary of places that seem too good to be true. I tend to avoid places that look too busy in major cities as often they are tourist traps. Not here. If you like beer and sausages and other hearty fare you are in for an absolute treat. The big rosti was great. I would recommend, and I will be back for an encore when I return to Zürich.

The menu has a great selection of dishes and you'll need to dine here a few times to get a full sense for the food. If you like sausages, then you will not be disappointed. Whether veal, pork, beef ... with a variety of spices, cheese filled, small links to 1 meter long skewer with 1kg of meat, they've got it. We ended up ordering a variety platter that did not disappoint. House beer was also great with plenty other beers on the menu. Outdoor seating area was great but the large indoor area is also very nice and authentic looking. The main building structure was built in 1487.... can you imagine that. This the kind of place that I can become a regular at (wished I could afford to move to Zurich).

Authentic Swiss cuisine with great authentic atmosphere. Crowded and tight seating. Reservations recommended. Everything we tried was delicious and make sure not to miss out on salads and side dishes.

There was a line to be seated but it was pretty quick. Menus available is multiple languages. The atmosphere was very chill and laid back. Food was really good, especially the potato salad. The best potato salad in the world! Must eat! Ginger beer was nice to accompany the meal.

this place is loud & bustling - Zeughauskeller is simply a must go! house in an old armoury with community tables, reservations are highly recommended, as it gets quite packed. i feared this place would be overrated as it’s mainly catered for the tourists, but i will say this was the best & most well rounded meal we had in switzerland. we ordered the caprese salad (summer special), mac & cheese, both cordon bleus (one pork one veal), zwingli sausage, and schnitzel. the customizable sides is a nice touch - you can pick between rice, steamed vegetables, rosti (hash-brown like potato patty), or french fries.
