My husband and I loved our seven course meal here! The dishes were so creative and satisfying, made with all local ingredients. They tasted fresh and were genuinely so enjoyable. A splurge at 120 CFH a person for seven courses but very worth it :)
Mixed feelings here. Whilst the different vegetables were interestingly treated a piece of pumpkin remains a piece of pumpkin even with a drop of sauce. After 4 course menu I left half hungry because there simply was not enough protein. Maybe a nod to Switzerland in 1837 - food is scarce and wine only for the rich :) as our wine glasses were left empty throughout the meal. We did ask for another glass which was brought but not once has someone come and asked “ would you like some more wine” . We would have happily drank a whole bottle by glass as we had not shared the same style of wine but it was not to be be :) The best item on the menu ( we tried out 8 different dishes) was the bread - now that was truly outstanding.
Atmosphere was stiff and staff robotic. Maybe that is what Zurich is like?
We wanted to try something new and different, the concept seemed nice on paper but we will not be back. 300 CHF for 2 - hmmm…
Very cute little restaurant with excellent service. The ingredients really are the star here, 100% regional and cooked with ingredients that would have been available pre-industrialisation.
Most plates had a very nice acidity, but when making the ingredients the star you can‘t overpower spices. Hence, if you‘re used to international or spicy cuisine, this might not be the best fit for you. Wines are 100% from Switzerland as well, but don‘t expect that they‘ll compare to some wines of our neighbouring countries.
If you‘re looking for „mainstream“ guide michelin experience this isn‘t for you, but we had an excellent evening‘
There's a choice between a 6-course surprise menu or a 3-course surprise menu, with or without wine pairing. That's it.
All the dishes are made with locally sourced ingredients, and the wines are also sourced locally. The dishes are well-made and showcase a lot of creativity. The flavors and textures are carefully balanced, and the ingredients are of high quality.
While I do have to admit that I left a bit hungry (to the restaurant's defense: I eat like a horse), the overall dining experience was great. The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere, and the staff is friendly and hospitable.
Overall, if you're looking for a unique and memorable dining experience, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit.
