Samurai VII Altstetten

I have to say it was delicious, and the prices were almost surprisingly low. The business is operated by genuine Japanese people (not just some random individuals claiming to be Japanese). + You can simply walk in + They offer a good menu + Service and speed are excellent + Taste, freshness, and quality are outstanding + Value to price is almost surreal This won't be my last visit there.

I walked into Samurai VII by total chance, and what a lucky find this gem was. The service was welcoming and very polite, and at around noon there were still a few spots available. It’s a smaller restaurant, so coming with a group without a reservation could be tricky. To start, I had a beautifully dressed eel salad, where the rich eel contrasted nicely with the fresh, crunchy greens. For the main, I had an amazing tantanmen ramen, the broth had just the right level of spice, and the noodles were perfectly cooked with a good bite to them. I will definitely come again.

Everything was delicious, fresh, and authentic, it felt like I'm in Japan again. The service was good, and fast. They have sake selection, and sake cocktails, I tried the one with the yuzu. It had a pleasant bitterness with a touch of sourness. I'll definitely come back!

spontaneously stopped by with my little one after seeing it from the tram. friendly and attentive service, with both indoor and outdoor seating. we had 6 pcs. hosomaki cucumber (chf 7), which were fresh and fairly priced. we also tried 8 pcs. ebi ten avocado rolls (chf 21), but they weren’t to my taste — the shrimp tasted almost uncooked and the texture was soft rather than crisp, which i didn’t expect. maybe it just wasn’t the right choice for me. at the end, i was given too much change. when the staff member came back and pointed it out, i checked and gave it back right away. she was kind about it, and i appreciated how it was handled. overall, kind service and a nice atmosphere. maybe i’ll come back another time and try something different.

Very tasty japanese restaurant. Feels pretty authentic and the sushi I had were delicious. Only downsides, the prices were a bit high and service was a little slow. Make sure you reserve, the room is small and gets filled fast. There's some outdoor seating but close to a busy street so would not recommend unless really hot day. Food is really good though.
