The food was really good — well-prepared dishes and quality ingredients. The atmosphere was pleasant and the staff friendly. However, the prices were a bit too high for what you get, definitely on the expensive side. Overall, a good place, but not for every day.
I tried this restaurant through Too Good To Go and I truly appreciate the idea of reducing food waste, I usually enjoy using it. But my experience/restaurant here was extremely disappointing.
For 12 francs, we received two packs of sushi and what was supposed to be a soup, but it turned out to be nothing more than plain rice in a soup container. On top of that, the staff member who gave us the food was incredibly unfriendly and unwelcoming. From the moment we arrived, he made unnecessary comments and treated us with an attitude that felt openly disrespectful.
We were among the first to arrive, yet he let someone else go ahead, even though my friend and I clearly saw that person arriving after us and parking his bike. When I politely pointed it out, he dismissed it, and later handed us a bag with fewer items than expected. This was clearly intentional there were already prepared bags, yet he made us a new one with fewer items. Afterwards, he came back, offered an excuse, and gave us a so-called “soup,” which again was just plain white rice in a container. He even wanted to charge us extra for chopsticks, which were not an add-on. We had already paid 12 francs for food that otherwise would have been thrown away. A pack of chopsticks should be included by the price..
Mistakes can happen, and I don’t expect luxury from a Too Good To Go bag. But this was deliberate, and what really upset me was the attitude: rude, dismissive, and as if we should feel guilty for even being there. That kind of treatment toward paying customers regardless of the discount is unacceptable.
Food waste reduction is a wonderful concept, but it doesn’t excuse bad behavior or disrespect. This experience left me not only disappointed, but genuinely upset.
We were coming for McDonald’s but found this gem hidden up in an alleyway. The sushi here is exceptional and there is a sushi train option or a take away option. The plating was impeccable and the taste was tingling my taste buds.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this place.
I have ordered 4 rolles of sushi to go and it took them 34 minutes to prepare. The chefs were doing their best and ran around to catch up with the orders but had no chance because they were understaffed --> bad management. The new system with the order screens is a catastrophe since they have to prepare each order separately which takes them longer and makes no sense for a to go service - even if it would enhance quality at least psychologically. For me it does not matter if the sushi is prepared upon order or already packaged, time matters more.
