Amazing food and drinks! We had the cordon bleu and the bavette, and both were incredible. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. We went there two days in a row, one just for drinks and the other to have dinner, and the service didn't disappoint. I also specially enjoyed a lot the (alcohol free) amaretto sauer, it was spot on! I would definitely recommend. It may be a bit pricey, but everything in Switzerland is, so no news here. It was worth every penny.
Had an incredible dinner at Étoile Blanche! We kicked things off with the beef tartare crostini, chicken tenders, and croquettes. Everything was delicious, especially the sauces which are clearly made in-house and full of flavor.
For the main, I had the Cordon Bleu that was honestly the best I’ve ever had. It was perfectly cooked and beautifully plated. We finished with the fondant au chocolate which is essentially a chocolate lava cake, which was rich, decadent, and featured some truly impressive presentation.
Beyond the food, the wait staff were so kind and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommend!
Finally tried this classic establishment in Lausanne and it did not disappoint The classic cordon bleu was generous with interesting parsnip purée and the beef entrecôte was refreshing especially with the chimichurri sauce. Our personal favorite was the sweet potato fries, it was worth it to add-on!
In the evening the place can be a bit dark, but staff was attentive and helpful to turn on the light a bit when we asked :)
Will definitely come back to try other dishes on the menu!
Tried Feuilleté Forestière and vanilla crème brûlée at Étoile Blanche today.
The Feuilleté Forestière was a vol-au-vent style dish with mushrooms, a poached egg, herb-infused oil, foam, and champignons des bois, served with persillade. It was quite good and very much in a classic brasserie style, comforting and nicely executed.
The vanilla crème brûlée was delicious, with a well-caramelized top and a creamy custard underneath. I really enjoyed it.
Overall, a typical brasserie experience with good service and reasonable brasserie-style prices. The food menu choices were somewhat limited, though there were plenty of drink options available. A nice place to visit once in a while..
Nice place with good food variety. The staffs were friendly. We wanted to order 2 type if starter but the other one was not available.
The staff was kind enough to initiate to have our order with one extra piece of eggplant
Good option if you are around the city.
