I go to two different Activ gyms, one near my new job and the other near my home. This is the first time I go to this room and I had the misfortune to forget my bracelet at the workplace with my wallet. I've had a subscription since 8 years and I have nothing to pay so I couldn't train for my lunch break. I will not return to this room where the staff shows no understanding the situation. A mobile authentication application is very easy to set up to avoid this inconvenience.
You cannot get in into the fitness if you don’t bring a plastic red bracelet. If it happens that you accidentally forgot it. You have to but the plastic bracelet again even if you argue that you have it at home or at work. They just want to make you pay for everything and on top keep pollution as they incentivise buying and re-buying plastic bracelets. In addition, it is clear that the policy is only to pay you extra money since in 2022 we have all the technology available to have an app that could have all your info for the fitness. Horrible treatment to clients! And no exceptions, they won’t open the door not even if you explain the reasons and that you do have the bracelet at home and it’s an eventuality.
I go to three activ fitness gyms, one near work, home and my girlfriend place at each I have my spare gym bag. But eventually if you don’t have bracelet with you or forgot to bring it, you have to pay for entrance (bracelet)… I have my Apple Watch with me 24/7 as well as iPhone, to make a wallet app is not hard (with wallet - I can fly without ID, passport or driving license), but I can’t go to activ fitness. Just waiting few months until my year subscription ends finally.
Since the takeover of Silhouette by ActiveFitness, the gym has become very bureaucratic and rule bound, implementing series of nonsensical rules like no tank tops. The gym, in whatever country, has always been for me a place for escape of the every day grind. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case at ActiveFitness. I have discussed these ridiculousness of these changes with the staff (who all agree changes are crazy or ISIS like) and even discussed these changes with the CEO of the company. He was unable to provide any rationale or logic for these changes and reminded me of autocratic changes I have seen in other large corporations. In the end, I will do what all dissatisfied customers do, leave ActiveFitness and go to another gym, but I will also boycott the parent, Migro.
