I recently visited Konshi Restaurant and had a mixed experience with the food. While the ambiance was pleasant and service decent, the dishes varied significantly in quality.
The spicy chicken stood out as the best dish of the night. Although it wasn’t authentically prepared, the flavor was above average and satisfying. It had a nice kick and was well-cooked.
Unfortunately, the mapo tofu was disappointing — overly oily and lacking the depth of flavor you'd expect from this classic dish. The mango salad was the weakest item on the table: bland and tasteless, missing the refreshing tang that makes mango salads enjoyable.
The vegetable stir-fry was both salty and greasy, which overwhelmed the natural taste of the vegetables. As for the fried udon mee, it was just okay — not bad, but nothing memorable either.
I enjoyed it. The food was decent and price was reasonable in the centre of Zurich. And it open on Sunday. Went there myself and still ordered a few dishes to try. They were recommended by the waitress and I had to say they were nice. The roast duck was not a recommendation but I really wanted to have that on the day. And it didn’t disappoint.
If you’re looking for legit Asian food in Zurich, this is the place. We had the pork and duck, and it felt like I was somewhere in East Asia.
Price was quite fair compared to others we checked which are more expensive.
Highly recommend if you’re near Old Town or if you’re craving an authentic Chinese/Japanese food.
It’s at the carpark, I added a video for reference as you might not see it straight away.
