Restaurant Kindli

I’m convinced that try as you might, you’ll be hard pressed to find anywhere else in Zurich that is more reliably consistent in delivering such a well-balanced food & wine experience as we have always found over this past decade, happily returning here, as we always do when back in Zurich. And this evening was near perfect in almost every way. The comfort of the laid back but polished interior ( with its clever modern design elements) , is certainly something… but it’s that almost undefinable friendly professionalism delivering to table such fine food consistently that really wins the day! Of course à darned good cellar ( + great wines poured by the glass ) don’t go astray either -but in all fairness many other establishments have excellent wine cellars & by the glass service delivery also . No it’s the refinement of top quality ingredients managed with enormously high kitchen skills that always shines brightest for me . We shared their exquisitely fine noodles with really good summer truffles to start … I always love their classic Zürich veal w sauced mushrooms as my main …& my husband’s stunning liver main was almost reminiscent of a foie gras it was so tenderly rich & naturally sweet . Both accompanied by one of the town’s best Roesti, this combination is so delicious you cannot believe just how good everything is! And this happens every single time you come back ! And people most certainly do!!! Highly recommended. Quibbles ?.. I only wish the kitchen would always have at least one cooked green vegetable as a side . July 1: a return visit & absolutely the same service & fine food !! This time repeated our usual & much loved mains…however this time we shared a (main course) serve of Vitello Tonato as a starter - exquisite rare veal- superby plated individually- & a gorgeous version of the famed tuna/mayo sauce > divine! Alas no room for dessert- but I can only imagine how delicious they would taste! Best in show! Every time! Very Highly recommended.

Dined at Kindli once again — one of those restaurants that has quietly become part of my Zürich ritual. A Michelin Guide institution where the experience is never about surprise or theatrics, but consistency, warmth and effortless old-world elegance. Like reconnecting with an old friend you instantly fall back into rhythm with, even if you only meet a few times a year. ⚜️ Started the evening with a glass of very old Oloroso Sherry before moving onto the seasonal cream of asparagus soup. Silky, comforting and exactly the kind of understated classic Kindli executes so well. ⚜️⚜️ For the main, the timeless fillet of beef with fine noodles and black summer truffle, paired with Amarone from Masi. Perfectly cooked meat, rich sauce, generous truffle shavings — deeply satisfying without trying too hard. ⚜️⚜️⚜️ Dessert came in the form of a few stolen bites from my nephew’s birthday cake, kindly prepared by the restaurant, followed by a 1986 Bas Armagnac to close the evening. One of those moments where dinner slowly dissolves into atmosphere, conversation and warmth. ⚜️ Another deeply satisfying evening at Kindli — the kind of place that reminds you why certain classics never go out of style.

The service is great. Five star gave to the large portion. The food is upper mediocre level, pretty like home food.

100% recommended restaurant. From start to finish, we were treated wonderfully. Our waiter, Sezer, was very friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout the whole dinner, always making sure we felt comfortable. We truly felt very at ease, and the experience was excellent. We’ll definitely be back.

We came here for Lunch and it was the best lunch ever! It’s like having dinner at lunch. The food were all amazing and filling. Service was impeccable. My favorite was the filet of beef with truffles and the slice calf liver was amazing! It was so fresh and filling. The best Rosti so far we’ve tasted and the veal in cream sauce was very tasty and filling too. One of the best meals we’ve had in Switzerland! Reserve before coming over as it is a busy restaurant.
