I was recommended this place by a friend who studied in Zurich, and it did not disappoint! The prices were very affordable! The service was good, with servers who spoke English, which made ordering easy. The food was quite tasty overall. I highly recommend the schnitzel and the pork knuckle, which was huge. The sausage, however, was a bit too soft for my taste.

Probably the best choice if you’re looking for authentic, traditional Swiss food in the center of Zurich with a good price-to-quality ratio. The menu offers a wide variety of options, and many of them are definitely worth trying. We had two different rösti (one with bacon, cheese, and egg; the other with egg, cheese, and vegetables) for 18.50 CHF each, and one cordon bleu with cheese spätzle (25.50 CHF). All portions were very generous, and the food was good. The highlight was the cordon bleu. The rösti were okay, but nothing mind-blowing, I’ve had better. All in all, it’s a nice place for a relaxed lunch. It feels very authentic and rustic, it’s packed with locals, and the staff is very friendly. Also, considering the highly touristy area and the portion sizes, the prices are very reasonable by Zurich standards. Definitely a solid choice!

We were craving a pork dish all day and ended up at a high-end restaurant for lunch that primarily offered beef and veal options, which we don’t eat. After enjoying our 🍸time at Widder Bar, my 👨🏻‍🦱 suggested trying a German bar, as he believed they would have a variety of pork dishes. He then discovered a place called Rheindelder Bierhalle. To our surprise, it wasn’t exactly a "bar" but more like a bustling food court with communal tables. The close seating arrangements reminded us of our home in Hong Kong, which was nostalgic yet a bit overwhelming. I started to feel skeptical about this place, wondering if it could meet our expectations. However, the menu offered a bright side: an entire page dedicated to pork dishes, including options like pork liver. We decided to try the classic German pork sausage and pork schnitzel, and I have to say, it turned into a delightful dining experience. While I’m not usually a fan of potatoes, this time, I genuinely enjoyed them. The dishes were well-prepared and full of flavor, and the atmosphere was lively, with tables constantly occupied, indicating the popularity of the place. The service was efficient, adding to the overall positive experience. In the end, our impulse to seek out pork led us to a unique venue that exceeded our expectations. Rheindelder Bierhalle ended up being a satisfying choice, and I’d certainly recommend it to fellow pork enthusiasts!

The restaurant has a lively and sociable atmosphere; however, it is extremely loud. The staff are friendly and welcoming, contributing positively to the overall service. Unfortunately, the interior was very hot and poorly ventilated, making it uncomfortable to stay for a long period of time. I ordered a steak, but it was almost raw and did not meet expectations. While the service and social atmosphere were pleasant, improvements in comfort and food preparation are needed.

Good food, prices are reasonable for the area, quality is good. The best part was the dessert (chocolate cake warm served with ice cream and whipped cream). Good beer. Atmosphere is local and not a romantic place. I can recommend this place for Swiss food.
