This is a tourist place however I say with a wry smile, I ordered the excellent tomato salad with burrata and enquired about the burgers. A few minutes later both the tomato salad and the burger arrived. No way was that going back. I placed the oversized burger into my delicate gob. Frankly delicious. Fries were less than mediocre, but realistically was there any room for fries. This is a good spot for quick-ish food and drink. Toilets could be cleaner, but overall the venue is more than acceptable.
I went to this place atleast 5 times during my stay in Lausanne because the location is amazing and so is the food and drinks. Diana works at the front and she is beyond friendly and accommodating. The burger and fries are also a 10/10
The Lacustre is an obvious choice if you are roaming the waterfront in Lausanne and looking for an easy lunch option. There is a lot of outdoor seating, with a wraparound patio. When I visited I was able to get a seat with a partial lake-view.
I ordered the lobster roll and it was pretty good. Just having visited Halifax, Canada and enjoyed several lobster rolls it certainly had some competition. I will say the bun itself was amazing. So delicious. The roll has some cole slaw which I didn't personally care for. The lobster aspect was good. Comes with a little side salad that was also nice.
At least for lunch - not sure about dinner - you order inside at a bar and provide your table number. So in that regards its a bit casual. No complaints.
