I had high expectations for this so-called fine-dining experience, hoping to celebrate a special occasion and enjoy some authentic Argentinian cuisine. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I’ve ever had, and I won’t be coming back.
Like many of the other one-star reviews, I now understand I’m not alone. Blaming it on their “ordering system,” the staff essentially forgot about us for nearly an hour, apart from serving water and red wine before we even received our aperitif cocktails. When the cocktails finally arrived, they were terrible (avoid the Old Fashioned at all costs).
After that hour of waiting, a waiter came back to take our order again, asking me to repeat what we’d ordered from memory. The croquetas that eventually arrived were cold (probably not long enough in the microwave) and another waiter later appeared with what seemed like someone else’s order of croquetas and handed them to us.
When the main courses came, the presentation was sad: a small piece of meat with a scoop of purée and a lonely carrot. My friend’s ribeye, ordered medium, arrived almost raw; after we sent it back, it returned overcooked and chewy. He couldn’t even finish it.
Mistakes can happen, but when a restaurant charges fine-dining prices and sells itself as a premium experience, the standards should match the promise. Instead, the service was confused and disorganized, the food underwhelming, and the staff clearly not trained to the level such an establishment claims.
Sadly, this place was all style and no substance. I even had a stomachache the next day.
Good ambiance and service. The picanha was super good and the milanesa we can’t even describe in words. We will definitely go back to eat the milanesa again!
"Up-scale" restaurant where the only up-scale thing is the price.
Truly one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. Service was slow, messy, and careless — the waiter forgot our cocktail order, so they took forever to arrive. The Old Fashioned was probably the worst I’ve ever tasted (way too bitter and watery), and the red wine arrived before the cocktails.
They also forgot our food order (apparently issue with their ordering system). The starter came nearly an hour later, cold croquettes, and the main course was a disaster: first under-cooked meat, then overcooked after they tried to fix it. The plating was a joke: one spoon of tasteless mashed potatoes and 1/8th of a carrot slice. For a so-called fine-dining establishment, the quality was unacceptable.
I left still hungry, didn’t even bother with dessert, and went home to cook some crepes instead. Definitely will not be back here.
Great meal at Victoria. We ate here in the summer last year and sat on the roof terrace so was nice to feel the different ambiance of being inside. Food was lovely and the service first class
Food was excellent. We had milanesas with an amazing twist of flavors (the risotto one is delicious). Tortilla and provoleta were very good. The garnishes are tasty and plenty. Our waiter was the sweetest, most attentive we had in years. Bravo!
