On the morning after I ate at this restaurant, I wrote what I thought was a very polite and generous 3-star review focusing on the amazing food, minimizing, only in the last line, a very bad service incident that had completely ruined our Christmas dinner, without giving details of what we had to suffer and endure. That same afternoon we met with the general manager of the hotel affiliated with the restaurant to discuss the incident, not only he completely dismissed what we had suffered from during our dinner, but also he started attacking us on our google review. It was a total shock as no one had ever confronted me personally concerning any review. We stood by our review noting anyone including me and my wife has a right to leave a google review. Right after, he threatened to throw us out of the hotel involving the police, saying he has the power to do so without giving us any basis. We were just in total shock. We felt more than unsafe and had to leave the hotel. My review was entirely truthful based on our experience, and still polite and restrained. Now, after what we had gone through with restaurant itself and the general manager later on, it would be more accurate to say that it deserves only one star rather than 3 stars.
I will repeat what I said in the earlier review, to be fair to the amazing chef and kitchen, I still think that the steak tartare in particular was the best I’d ever come across, and each dish was creative and even beautiful in the very best way. The bread service also stood out as the best ever for its creative and quite brilliant presentation. From the wine list by the glass, strongly recommend the Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Please do not view the one star as signifying negative about the food. Nontheless, the good restaurant should be not only about the good food but also about the great experience. As far as the service incident, in my many years of dining globally, it was by far the worst experience I ever had. We will never forget it.
One of the best 2-star Michelin experiences we’ve ever had! Very unpretentious and down to earth food coupled with great service makes this a winner. The ability to select how many courses- we chose 4- versus 5 or 6, was also a huge delight as we find ourselves struggling at times when you’re facing the 18th course.
If I had a critique, it would be the presentation of the Wagyu- very unappetizing when it came out- I should have stayed with the venison.
Also, quite the treat- Chef Stefan personally came out and delivered a course and talked us through it. A true honor.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the wine pairing- it was perfect the entire way through. The final desert wine was simply stunning as well.
If our travels bring us back to Zurich, we hope to dine here again.
Is there any way to rate it better than a five? I'd give it a ten.
Amazing experience!
To start with some wines at the bar with a bit of Jazz
Them just get ready for one or maybe your best experience eating and discovering tastes you had never had before!
Simply the best restaurant in Switzerland. It's the first place I've been where the food is vibrant and fresh without being swissified. Great Asian influences. Great service.
The best meal in Switzerland. One of the best meals we have ever had after going to more than 100 Michelin star restaurants. Seasonal not pretentious and well balanced. Also like the shape, decor and openness of the room.
