Overall, we were disappointed. Starting with the location; We booked 10 days in advance on the terrace expecting a table with stunning view on the city of Zurich (which is a key reason for coming) instead of getting a table at the rear end with view to the woods. Second, the service was the biggest disappointment. Waiting times both for getting the menu card (min. 30 minutes), bread & oil (arrived after an hour!) and first course (min. 30 minutes) were enormous and inacceptable (especially since the restaurant wasn't even half full). Our service lady & other staff were not motivated and not attentive either (forgot our ordered ice box for the Rosé, asked me if I knew the wine I ordered?!) and after our first bottle of wine recommended us wine per glass for 26.- CHF each without mentioning this rather ambitious pricing (probably that's why she did not bring us the wine list again to view the options ourselves). Our ordered espresso did only partly show up and the forgotten single coffee was charged with an extra-bill after unfortunately spending a too generous tip. During all this deficits, an excuse was never heard and when we left, she did not even say 'thank you' or 'good bye' when we passed her at the exit. This kind of unprofessional service is by no means adequate to a five-star hotel like the Dolder Grand and certainly the reason why we do not recommend this place and shall not return! We truly hope the Management will work on this to improve since otherwise the location won't be successful. It is a pity since the terrace would be really nice and partly even unique (at least the part offering city view). In this context, we also want to point out that at least food quality and creativity of the kitchen were of consistent high standards and we loved all the tasty and sophisticated dishes served. Actually, the talented chef à la carte - Mr. Julian Mai - deserves a better environment than what we unfortunately experienced this evening.

We had a fantastic time at SALTZ. Kim and host made my day and entire team were on point attentive, and welcoming throughout both dinner and breakfast. The dishes we tried were delicious, and the breakfast was truly exceptional — one of the best I’ve ever had, with an impressive selection of high-quality items. Btw big thanks for warm welcome and the little behind-the-scenes tour! Can’t wait to be back!

I started with two amuse-bouche-style dishes: bruschetta croustarde with olives and feta, and saffron arancini with beef ragù and peas — both fantastic, and very reminiscent of a proper amuse bouche in the classic sense. I paired these (and pretty much the whole evening) with French Bloom Blanc, which was excellent throughout. Next up was a lemongrass-curry cappuccino with soft shell crab tempura and banana — wonderfully creative, and just as impressive as it sounds. That was followed by a veal cordon bleu with truffle fries, another dish I can wholeheartedly recommend. For dessert, a hazelnut noir sundae rounded things off nicely, and two complimentary chocolates arrived as a lovely final touch. All in all, a brilliant evening. The price-to-quality ratio is genuinely good, and the whole experience does full justice to The Dolder Grand. American Express was accepted.

I reserved this place for our anniversary on the terrace on a Sun evening. We were quickly seated when we arrived. The service was impassable. The food was very delicious. The waiter took off the drinks from our bill. They were able to accommodate our dietary requirements of no alcohol and no pork as well. The view was nice and we had a fabulous time travelling inside the Dolder as well.

Very delicious food, happy vegetarian as well as happy meat eating guests at our table. Great wine and cocktail! Super friendly service (only once did we have a slightly arrogant manager or so, but since then all experiences were very friendly) Recommended!
