The Lacustre is an obvious choice if you are roaming the waterfront in Lausanne and looking for an easy lunch option. There is a lot of outdoor seating, with a wraparound patio. When I visited I was able to get a seat with a partial lake-view.
I ordered the lobster roll and it was pretty good. Just having visited Halifax, Canada and enjoyed several lobster rolls it certainly had some competition. I will say the bun itself was amazing. So delicious. The roll has some cole slaw which I didn't personally care for. The lobster aspect was good. Comes with a little side salad that was also nice.
At least for lunch - not sure about dinner - you order inside at a bar and provide your table number. So in that regards its a bit casual. No complaints.
We went to The Lacustre in Lausanne with a group of friends and had a great time. The setting is absolutely beautiful, with a fantastic atmosphere right by the lake. The food was excellent and the cocktails were just as impressive. Prices are really fair for the quality of the food, which makes the experience even better. The only thing to keep in mind is that there is only bar service, but overall it didn’t take away from the experience. Definitely a spot worth visiting if you’re in Lausanne!
Brunching by the lake is a great idea. It gets even better when your food is as naughty as it can get. A delicious surprise. Bonus to the friendly, and smiling young staff. A great idea for a sunny Sunday.
Recommend to reserve before coming.
Amazing option for a family pizza if you want to see the lake and stay as long as you want. The balcony has a panoramic view of the lake and the boats and pizza is surprisingly good. The waitresses are busy but nice. The prices are very reasonable for Lausanne.
Really nice place at the lake of Geneva. Friendly personal, fast service and good food. There is also a pinball machine for those who still know how to play it.
